Are you looking for a good Web editor for Ubuntu? Why not get one supported by the folks who write the standards? The World Wide Web Consortium is an organization that works together with the public to develop Web standards. It just so happens they also created a nice Web editor called Amaya.

To install Amaya, open a Terminal and type the following:

• $ wget http://www.w3.org/Amaya/Distribution/amaya_10.0.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb *
• $ sudo dpkg -i amaya_10.0.1-0ubuntu1_i386.deb
• * Note: This version should work in both Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) and Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron).

To launch Amaya, select Applications > Programming > Amaya from the Ubuntu desktop menu.

To begin using Amaya, browse through the User Manual. I think you will find a lot of handy ways to edit your Web content using Amaya.
